Climate Protection
...as a passion

The reason why we want to produce food locally and with a neutral CO2 balance

Minimal water consumption
Our Farms stand for sustainable water management and closed water cycles. The cultivation of vegetables and fish farming within our system is extremely resource efficient.
Minimal CO2 production
Our farms enable a climate friendly diet and aim through sustainable principles and local production to reduce the overall CO2 footprint.
Minimal transportation routes
Our vegetable and fish are produced ultra locally within the city. No motorway miles, no cargo ships, no cold chain.
Our ECF farms
- Require 50% less water
- Require 70% less space than conventional agriculture
- Eliminate transport routes
- Use waste heat from existing buildings
- Prolong the product lifecycle. By upcycling discarded containers we have already reduced the overall CO2 balance
To achieve these sustainable targets, we aim to dedicate much attention to constant research and development. For that reason we plan to allocate space in the planned ECF Center Berlin for research and development.
Our focus:
• technical innovations
• technological efficiency
• sustainability indicators
• air efficiency
• plant protection, plant breeding research
• animal welfare
• trans-disciplinary approaches to research
• departmental research
• promotion of innovation
• long-term improvements of the technological potential of organic farming
